Falcons (White) Prepared to Finish Strong

Good day Arborbrook Christian Academy and Legacy Sports fans. Instead of falling back with the time this past Saturday your Arborbrook Falcons (White Team) leaped forward with a great win against the Harris YMCA #1 Team. Once again, it was beautiful day for football, and the youngest of the team really stepped.

Cornerbacks Jonathan Zangmeister and Chad Alexander both turned in big games on defense as they stopped the YMCA running game with great pulls and heads up play. Defensive game ball goes to Chad Alexander who intercepted a pass to end the YMCA’s final drive, setting up a final Falcons TD to end the game with a final score of Falcons 32, YMCA 8. Although the entire team played very well with great communication and defensive reads, Alex Forster really stepped up in key situations to complete 4th down stops.

Offensively the Falcons got off to a slow start scoring only once in the first half, with a beautiful pass from Quarterback Trey Barnes to Wide Receiver Matthew (Pede) Pedemonte. However, the falcons quickly regained their stride in the second half as Trey Barnes threw for four additional TD’s. He spread the ball out to multiple receivers scoring three times with completions to Daniel Zangmeister and once again to Matthew Pedemonte. Offensive game balls go to Trey Barnes, Daniel Zangmeister and Matthew Pedemonte.

Next week the Falcons take on a very formidable Siskey YMCA #5 team, which they met in week 6 winning 40 to 18. Hoping to end the regular season with a 7 and 1 record, the Falcons White team is not taking this opponent lightly, this should prove to be a great game. The Arborbrook Falcons White team has played consistently to the expectations of there coaches, who felt from game one that they had the talent to indeed go undefeated for the season. Unfortunately this was not to be, after a close but disappointing loss to the Falcons Green team during game 5 of a double header Sunday. The Falcons took themselves out of this game in the first half responding to some great play by the green team. This loss however, taught the White team a very important lesson about life and football. That as long as you are in the game and as long as there is time on the clock, you give it your best, you give it your all because there is always hope. The Falcons White team pulled to within 3 points of winning in the second half until time ran out. The team then continued their inspired play winning the second game of the double header day convincingly. Here is a recap of the Arborbrook Falcons White team season to date:

GO FALCONS! GO JESUS!

Falcons Come Back In 2nd Half To Defeat Harris Y

Falcons 31 – Harris YMCA 21

The Falcons scored 31 points in the second have to erase a 21-7 deficit and defeat the Harris Y by a score of 31-21.  The first half started out slow for the Falcons as the offense had only two possessions and both stalled inside the Harris Y’s 5 yard line.  The defense allowed two long drives that resulted in two touchdowns and two successful extra points for the Harris Y and a 14-0 lead at half time.  Coach Tyson told the players during the half time break that they were  not executing but when we scored on our first possession we would be back in the game.

The Falcons lined up on offense to start the second half with Ryan Brown taking the snap at quarterback.  Ryan lofted a deep pass down field to Caleb Robinson who out wrestled two defenders to come up with a super catch.  That play seemed to ignite the Falcons who suddenly became a different team.  Ryan Brown scored the Falcons first touchdown of the day with a quarterback reverse on the next play.  Mitch Moore then hit Ryan in the cornor of the end zone for the extra point and it was a 14-7 game.  The Harris Y scored on their very first play of the second half on a long run around the right end and completed the extra point.  It was now 21-7 but the Falcons spirt had not changed.  The Falcons took over on their own five yard line and Mitch Moore scored on the first play with a paas to Ryan Brown and a pitch back to Mitch.  The extra point was missed but the Falcons had immediately answered the Y’s score and now trailed 21-13.  The defense held the Y to four and out  and the offense took over.  The Falcons moved to the Harris Y 20 yard line where Ryand Brown faked the reverse and ran around the right end for the Falcons third score of the game.  The extra point was missed but it was now 21-19.  The Falcons held on first and second down when Hank Booth made a tremendous interception to give the Falcons the ball on the Harris Y 15 yard line.  Tripp Osteen took the hand off and scampered through the Harris defense for his first touchdown of the year and gave the Falcons their first lead of the day at 25-21.  The Harris Y’s offense took possession with four minutes still left in the game.  Four plays later they were on the Falcon 12 yard line with 1 minute and 25 seconds left to play.  Coach Tyson called his first time out to preserve time for the offense in case the Harris Y scored.  On the next play Mitch Moore stepped in front of a goal line pass and took it the other way before he was stopped at the Harris Y three yard line.  Ryan Brown cemented the victory when he scored his 3rd touchdown of the game on a pass from Mitch Moore.  The Falcon defense would hold one more time as the Falcons recorded their 4th straight win.  The Falcons outscored the Harris Y 31-7 in the second half, scoring touchdowns on all five possessions.  Every player on the Falcons has now scored either a touchdown or an extra point this season.  We play our final game next Saturday at 3:30 against the other team from the Harris Y on their field.
