Good day Arborbrook Christian Academy and Legacy Sports fans. This past Saturday your Falcons (White Team) took on the Siskey YMCA 2 team, in their opening game of the season. It was beautiful day for football, and the Falcons did not disappoint the good number of family and friends who attended. The Falcons lead the entire game scoring on every possession, ending the day with a final score of Falcons 38, YMCA 19.
The Falcons truly glorified God in their play and sportsmanship. Playing without their full team the Falcons gave it their all. Leading the way on offense was receiver # 8 Matthew Pedemonte (Pita), who scored two back to back touchdowns on passes from Quarterback # 7 Ben Marsico. Matthew also had great runs from scrimmage and played an excellent game, even scoring on a 2 point conversion. Ben Marsico was calm under pressure as the YMCA blitz did not stop him from throwing 3 touchdown passes in the first half, this, while scoring on defense with an amazing interception and run back. His third touch down pass was to Receiver # 3 Alex Forster who scored the half ending TD with seconds to go. Alex was equally amazing on defense stopping multiple YMCA runners with drive ending pulls and almost intercepting on several plays. Leading the way at Quarterback for the second half was Trey Barnes. Center # 9 Jaz Alexander, had an amazing game, setting up several TD’s with great catches and runs. Jaz started the second half with a beautiful pass from Quarterback # 10 Trey Barnes at mid field and running it in for a touchdown. Trey then followed up with a brilliant “razzle dazzle” play catching a pass and running it in for the TD as well. Last but not least was the brilliant running of Half Backs # 2 Chad Alexander and # 5 Josh Forster. Being the smallest on the field didn’t stop these two from racking up some serious yardage. They kept the defense guessing who had the ball with great fakes and carries.
Josh Forster played hard on defense shutting down the run to his side, while checking any passes in his direction. Chad Alexander equally had a great game on defense, stopping several passes, while nearly intercepting one. He is also credited with the game ending run stop, which would have been a score for the YMCA. The defense as a whole held the entire game with great performances by the entire team.
Head coach John Alexander and assistant coach Denny Forster are excited about the season. They are proud not only of the teams play but of their character on and off the field. The refs equally noted that they too had a great game and a lot of fun officiating. Coaches’ hat’s off to the entire team for a great start to the season. We hope to see everyone out at the next game as we take on the Falcons (Green Team) and the Siskey YMCA 5 team, in what will be a great double header. A special thanks to all parents and friends for attending.
GO FALCONS!
